23 year old male with fair and thin skin reported at the clinic for consultation and was very polite and nervous when he came in. The chief complaints were as follows:
- Involuntary seminal emissions at night since 5-6 years
- These would occur about once or twice in a week
- The complaints would be worse from eating outside food, onions, spicy foods and bread
- Lack of energy for 5-6 days after the above-mentioned complaints
- Disturbed sleep and diminished appetite
He had depressing thoughts about his career and lot of negative thoughts in general. There was no job satisfaction and he felt that he would never be able to earn good money.
After his mother's death due to a chronic illness about 2 years ago, complaints of weight loss had started. His father married again and started staying separately with his second wife and the patient was left to stay with his grandmother. Being pampered by his father with a lot of love and money had become a thing of the past now. This period had been very horrifying for him. Once a brilliant person at academics, he was now unable to pursue further studies since taking care of his mother's health kept him very busy.
Other features of his personality:
- Would mix easily with people
- Liked company
- Negative thoughts when alone
- Emotionally sensitive
- Anger- marked
- Violent anger, impulse to kill the other person, shouting and banging things, earlier he used to hit his father when angry
- Trembling with anger
- Cannot control his anger
- If someone would console him, he felt much better
- Revengeful thoughts
- Very low confidence
- Fear of talking in a crowd, stage fright
- Marked fear of snakes
- Fear of opposite sex
Another notable pint in the case history was that he had been in love with a girl in the past but she refused marriage due to unknown reasons.
Physical features:
- Vegetarian
- Desire for onions, sweets, ice, milk
- Aversion to bitter gourd
- Worse from Bread and cheese
- Sensitive to cold in general
- Sweat would stain yellow.
- Dreams of falling from height, of snakes, seeing naked women, amorous and frightful dreams since many years
- Earlier he would masturbate once a week
He had suffered from Malaria 4 years back. No other history of illness in the past or in the family.
Based on the above history, he was prescribed Phosphoric acid 30 for his complaints. 2 weeks later, he reported that there were no involuntary seminal emissions at night in this span. Later the frequency of seminal emissions was about once in 2 weeks. He was feeling confident and good in general. His treatment was continued on similar lines and he started feeling emotionally better. The feeling of exhaustion gradually disappeared and he also gained weight. Thereafter, the nocturnal involuntary seminal emissions stopped completely during a period of 4 months that he was under treatment. His treatment was concluded at this point and he was told to report to us in case he developed any complaints in future.
