The patient was referred to us by a Physician. He had come with the complaints of pain in hip joints, thighs and occasional pain with swelling in the ankles. He had difficulty in folding the legs. Due to these pains his movements are very much restricted and he was bed ridden.
There was a marked weight loss the patient had lost around 15 kg of weight in a time span of 2-4 years.
During the case taking he mentioned that most of his joint pains had started since 1999 but investigations showed no abnormality. Subsequently he started loosing weight and the pain and swellings had spread to other joints of the body he was practically immobilized. After investigations his condition was diagnosed as Osteoporosis and Tuberculosis. AKT along with heavy doses of steroids was started for him.
All these medication were not giving him much relief and he was much distressed.
His appetite was reduced and he craved for milk and ice-creams.
The patient's childhood was pleasant and he was very attached to his parents.
As a person the patient was reserved and had a sensitive nature, he would weep easily.
He was also very short tempered had a tendency to get angry very easily if things did not go in his way. Once in his society office due to some quarrel one of the society members hired some goons and had him beaten up. This had caused a lot of anger and indignation in the patient and he felt that this shouldn't have had happened. This was a big shock to him. Most of his complaints had worsened after this event. He wants all the things in proper place and order if they are not so he would loose his temper.
His relationship with his wife and children were very good.
The patients sleep was disturbed and he would wake up startled.

1991 Biopsy of the skin had revealed Hansen disease.
Investigations
X-ray right hip: Soft tissue calcification was seen in the right iliac region.
X-ray dorsolumber spine: Crack fractures were seen in the right transverse processes of L3 & L4 vertebrae.
Frank osteoporosis is seen at the Hip and in the spine
The patient was prescribed Staphysagria 30. He was next seen after 2 weeks. The patient reported that his pains were less and he was able to sleep better. He was next seen after 4 weeks and his progress continued. His appetite was better and he had even put on weight. Over the next few months his condition kept improving and he gradually became mobile and was able to go about his routine business.
