| Mr. M.L. A tall, very thin, stoop shouldered person reported with the complaint of constipation, since six years. 2/3 days used to pass without going to the toilet. The stools were very hard.
Along with the constipation he had gases in the abdomen with constant pain around the navel. He also had fever and headache.
All these complaints would worsen due to stress and he would feel better by lying on the abdomen in knee-chest position and by drinking cold milk and warm water.
When constipated, he felt lethargic and did not want to work. He temporarily felt better after taking some laxatives.
During the course of case taking he mentioned he also suffered from burning sensation in his soles, which was better by holding the foot in cold water, exercise and rubbing the foot on a rough surface or grass.
He had pain in the scalp and temples which was better by massage and listening to soft music. These complaints were worse by stress, dirty environment and noise.
In general his appetite was good and he liked to eat sweets, non-vegetarian food, and fruits. He did not like bringals (aubergine), banana and milk products.
He had early graying of hair and caries of teeth.
Currently he had completed his Ph. D and was employed as a post doctoral research fellow.His family background was sound and he had amicable relation with his parents and siblings, he did not have any financial responsibilities.
Extended periods of tension or worries troubled him a lot. If he was worried about a problem, he would spend his entire time and thoughts on it. He would find it difficult to relax during these phases. He would get so deeply involved in the problem that he used to argue, curse and fights in his sleep.
He would get very much affected by tensions; he would argue, curse and fight in his sleep regarding these events. When asleep he talked about his work and got lots multicolored dreams of daily happenings.
According to him, this development was related to a very bad time that he had during his Ph.D. During his Ph.D. there was some disagreement and the guide was unsatisfied with his outlook and fundamentals which lead to some misunderstanding between them. Since then he had become anxious about his future with a strong feeling of insecurity. He always used to think and worry about the future, he was quite demoralized. He felt as if he will not be able to continue and complete his Ph.D.
He was a sensitive person and would get affected by the dirty surroundings and noise. He would get irritated very easily but said used to control himself. He did not share his feelings and had a tendency to brood.
His relationship with his friends were normal and he liked to listen to western classical music, watch films and sing. There was one instance of disappointment in a love affair. He was very shy and timid by nature. Never went out of his way to talk to anybody. He never got along well with the opposite sex since childhood.
He had fear of ghost. As a child once he had seen a horror film, subsequently he used to get nightmares for many years.
This was a very interesting case bordering on schizophrenia and was effectively treated with China sulph. The patient was prescribed this remedy in 30 potency and within 2 weeks his complaints started to settle down.
Over the next few weeks he showed remarkable improvement and this treatment gave him a new vision. He settled his scores with the guide in simple way & he migrated for further research to USA on a scholarship. At times he showed some symptoms of early schizophrenia which were handled easily with China Sulph.
